Little Bamboo (Harlem) opened in January 2016, when Jimmy and Jodi (our founders) returned to NYC after living in St. Maarten for almost a decade. Upon their return home, the pair sought out a multi-cultural environment akin to St. Maarten, but with NYC energy. And they found Harlem, or actually Harlem found them, when their young son Dylan opted to attend a Harlem-based school. With them they brought Little Bamboo. Created on the tropical Caribbean Island of St. Maarten about 15 years ago, Little Bamboo (Harlem) is an offshoot of the team’s two St. Maarten-based restaurants: Bamboo, and (please insert link to little bamboo-sxm). Bamboo (2002) is one of the island’s leading full-service restaurants/lounges offering a world class Sushi Bar that has been described by many publications as “NY Style Sushi with a Caribbean twist.” Little Bamboo (Sint Maarten) (2014) is the highly popular, fast-casual version of its larger “sister” restaurant, developed for those needing a quick “fix” of their favorite Bamboo Sushi and Sashimi.
